The Story Of The Living Collective
The Living Collective was born as a result of the founder’s personal experience when relocating from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. The house they were building was still in construction and they had already sold their residence in Durban.
This required that they look for alternative accommodation in Pietermaritzburg, where they had difficulty securing a short-term lease and as well as finding a fully furnished apartment. This resulted in a six-week stay in a hotel room for a family of four, which as you can imagine, was a highly unpleasant experience. The frustration, therefore, gave birth to the idea to provide a hotel alternative with the same service standards and luxury, but with more space and comfort of a home.
In 2018, The Living Collective was born.
Our Homes
The Gates at Hilton is a secure residential village of 81 homes on a 43-hectare land, along the western boundary of Hilton College and Gwens Stream.
The property offers large pieces of land for homeowners with stunning views over the uMngeni Valley towards Howick and the Drakensberg. Joining our accommodation collection are our TLC Apartments. Our Wenvic Apartment Blocks are situated at 90 College Road in Pelham. The apartments are adjacent to the Premier’s residence, Pietermaritzburg Girls High School, and 450 meters from Maritzburg College And yes, of course, we have strived to provide convenience by offering our guests the option of short stay furnished or long stay unfurnished apartments.
Whether you need a home away from home and seek out our furnished TLC short stay apartments for a quick PMB visit, or you plan to nest a little longer in our unfurnished TLC long stay apartment, the choice is yours.
