Hilton is home to no fewer than five schools, including the boarding schools Hilton College and St Anne’s. Hilton College is one of South Africa’s most well-known and prestigious private boys’ schools. Michaelhouse, the Anglican Diocesan College of Natal, was founded in 1896 and is a South African boarding school for senior boys with an international reputation.

Founded in 1877, St Anne’s Diocesan College is an independent girls’ high school situated in Hilton, with a long tradition of providing excellent, balanced and globally relevant education in a caring boarding environment. St Anne’s is a made up of a majority of termly boarders, a portion of weekly boarders and a small, integrated community of day boarders.
St Anne’s is an Anglican school, and the name Diocesan College indicates our membership of the Anglican Church and the Diocese of KwaZulu-Natal. As a result of this important relationship, the College endeavours to create a secure spiritual foundation within each girl. Entrants do not necessarily have to be Christian, but our girls are expected to attend regular worship in our Chapel.
